Spring Hill Jersey Cheese Co. - Originally known by locals as "The Creamery" or "The Co-op," it has been a Petaluma, California institution for 91 years and now Spring Hill Jersey Cheese Co. continues that heritage.  Their cheese is made from their own Jersey cows and is all Natural, 100% Fresh Cultured Grade A Jersey milk....no Artificial hormones.  Every October the Peter Pumpkin Patch is open to to the public....lots of pumpkins, cows and pumpkin ice cream!

 

tierra vegetables Tierra Vegetables - sells only what they grow....lots of sustainably produced vegetables, 30 varieties of dried beans and several varieties of corn for cornmeal and polenta, fresh chiles, chile products, hot sauces, jams and much more.  They also sell their produce through their CSA program and the San Francisco Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings. 

 

Veggielution Community Garden - a nonprofit community farm that empowers youth and adults from diverse backgrounds to create a sustainable food system in San Jose, California.  The urban farm engages the community by providing access to healthy and local food, creating youth opportunities, and developing creative solutions to social and environmental justice issues.  Volunteer workdays, youth programs, sliding scale farm stand, and community workshops give people a chance to get their hands dirty growing veggies, and learn the importance of eating healthy food and knowing where it came from.
